How long have you been doing CrossFit? 10 months

What made you decide to start? I do not have much physical activity (I’m a couch potato really) and I thought that if I would not move my a… body I would die from a heart attack in 10 years. A friend kept telling me about CrossFit so I decided to give it a try.

What are your fitness goals or objectives? Keep my health in check and see how far I can go.

What is the most enjoyable thing about doing CrossFit? The variety, the coaching and the community. I would never have got out of the couch to go lift weights, alone, in a “standard” gym. Also, less about CrossFit per se, the progress. Seeing yourself improve is a wonderful feeling.

What do you love about the ACROSS FITNESS box & community?

I love the coaches, they’re awesome. Also I do enjoy the overall atmosphere, the laughs, the shared agony during the workout… The complaining before it… It’s just great !

Have you noticed any changes in your daily life since you joined the ACROSS FITNESS box? Tons ! I sleep better. I’m less stressed. I’m not feeling my heart wanting to burst out of my chest when I climb some stairs anymore. I’m not out of breath after 10s of any activity. Also sore muscles. Limping. A profound hate for burpees.

What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about starting CrossFit? Depends on what prevents you from starting ?

  • Difficulty ? Yeah it is difficult but all exercises can be scaled down to meet your level… And the progress… The progress !!!
  • Money ? I was in that category. It is super expensive (I grew up without much money so it’s anchored in me) but think of it as an investment in yourself. Just do it ! Come and have fun (SUFFER !!!) with everyone.
