Eveyone meet Jin! He’s been doing CrossFit for around 7 years and counting. How long have you been doing CrossFit?
7th year? Probably.
Where did you find us, and what motivated you to start?
When I went to MMA gyms in the United States, most of them had incorporated CrossFit into their basic training, so I became interested. Around that time, I learned that K-1 legend Nicholas Pettas had opened a BOX nearby, so I joined right away.
What has been the most enjoyable part of doing CrossFit?
I witnessed someone who came for a trial vomiting because they couldn’t endure the training, and I was shocked that even as an adult, there is a place where you can be pushed that far.
Is there someone you admire or aim to be like? Why?
All of the members. Regardless of age or body type, everyone constantly pushes themselves to their own limits and continues to grow. People like that are really cool, and because I’m in an environment where I can train with them, I feel that I’m able to grow as well.

Do you have any advice for people who are thinking about starting?
As you become able to do things you couldn’t do before and start enjoying your own growth, you may begin to overwork yourself. Then your performance won’t improve, and the risk of injury increases. To steadily build strength and become stronger, I think it’s important not to rush and to value recovery just as much as training.
